I’ve been overcoming challenges from an early age, mainly a chronic illness throughout my most formative years of 11 to 21 years old. This time also gave me the chance to develop skills in active listening, problem solving, and being comfortable with silence, all of which have been vital in my ability to become a coach.
Growing up as the middle of three brothers, I’ve been vary aware of the specific challenges facing men, particularly in the 21st century. This was also confirmed during my time as a student mentor at a further education college, which is why I decided to focus my efforts on helping men to get some clarity on their life’s purpose and direction.
Alongside my Personal Development Coaching practice, my umbrella company about Personal Development as a whole, Develop Together, has a variety of resources to help people improve themselves. This is something that will continue to grow with more resources as I create them, some of which are completely free of charge.
During my own development I came up with my personal mentra that I now use as a core part of my activities as a coach and with Develop Together. This is “Own The Day” and underpins my general life philosophy to do at least one small thing everyday towards one of your goals. I was happy to discover that this encapsulates the science behind motivation, which I now push as part of my overall mantra.
